What Are You Going To Wear Today?

Oct 25, 2026  •  Jerome Bullard

What are we wearing today? Not in the physical sense, but spiritually. Each morning, without even realizing it, we reach into an invisible wardrobe and choose what to put on. Hurt. Shame. The past. Guilt. These are garments that weigh us down and keep us from walking in the freedom that has already been purchased for us. Romans 8:1-2 anchors this message with a powerful truth: there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. He has made us free from the law of sin and death. That freedom is not a future promise we are waiting on. It is a present reality we are invited to step into right now. The challenge is that so many of us have been freed from the cage but continue to pace back and forth within its invisible walls, doing what the message calls the 12-foot shuffle. We are liberated but living like we are still locked up. This message calls us to examine what we are choosing to carry and invites us to trade in the ugly garments of condemnation and fear for the wardrobe God has prepared for us: righteousness, peace, and joy. If God has forgiven us, the most faithful response we can offer is to forgive ourselves and step fully into the life He designed for us.
