WHAT IS BRIDGE TENDERS? Bridge Tenders is a bible study group that consists of people 18-30 something. The group was formed in order to develop a community of young believers desiring more of God. We are currently averaging 15-20 young adults.
WHERE DOES THE GROUP MEET? Bridge Tenders has previously met in homes. In October of 2009 the group moved to its current location, a bible study room at Bridge of Life Community Church. (See our map for directions) The room is large enough to hold our group with plenty of space for growth. Take a seat on a couch, sit back, and get ready for a learning experience.
WHEN DOES THE GROUP MEET? Bridge Tenders Bible Study meets every Thursday night at 7:00 pm.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT? Expect to have a good time. We are group of laid back, no pressure people. The bible study is a DVD based one that allows for group discussion. Topics have included, witnessing, spiritual growth and servant hood. After discussion and prayer we have a time of fellowship that included food and games! Dress is casual.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING? There is no need for you to bring anything but yourself!
Gay Phillips, Bridge Tenders Leader:
Gay has worked with youth and church music since the age of 15. She was raised in Dublin, NC where she attended Dublin PFWB. She earned a bachelors degree from UNCW in parks and recreation. Gay moved to Delco, NC in 1978 when she married her husband, David Phillips. They have 3 Children; Quincy Phillips who is married to Courtney Clayter Phillips, Nick Phillips and a daughter Beverly Phillips who went to be home with the Lord on March 5, 2010. Gay began attending BOLCC in 2006. She loves the "freedom of worship, the strong preaching of the Gospel and the love that you feel in the church".
Along with leading Bridge Tenders young adult bible study, and helping with music at BOLCC, Gay also spends her summers working at Crusader Youth Camp (CYC). This camp provides ministry for children as young as 7 years of age and going through senior citizens. These things are her passion; BOLCC young adults, CYC and Music!
